Child Dedication is the way our church celebrates and welcomes a child into our family of faith.  We recognize that children are a gift from God and believe that we are entrusted as parents and as a community with the wonderful joy and sobering responsibility of raising these precious children.  It is our prayer that children in our church community will grow up in the family of faith, understand that Jesus is Lord and savior of the world, and choose to follow him.

Our child dedication ceremony includes a dedication prayer for the child and a commitment of the parents to raise the child in a godly home.  As the child grows up and has made their faith in Jesus their own, they can make their affirmation of faith public through baptism.  We value the diversity of practices among different churches in regard to embracing and enfolding children into the life of the church.  Some Christian traditions practice infant baptism which is later linked with confirmation.  Here we love the ceremony of dedicating children before God and then allowing them to make their own decision and declaration of faith through baptism.  If you have any questions, or if you would like to dedicate a child, please contact us.
