Did you know that children do their most important learning before the age of five?  That’s why, in addition to lots of love and attention, everything we do at Small World School involves early childhood development.  We cultivate intentional environments that nurture each child's social, emotional, spiritual, and intellectual development.

We begin with age-appropriate environments that encourage children to learn, play and explore. You name it -- books, blocks, puppets, paper, toys and tambourines, they are all here ready for your child to experience. There are sticks for counting, seeds for planting and places for exploring. Your young child will find an endless assortment of activities that engage their interest and stimulate their mind, heart, and hands.

At the heart of every project and activity, there are specially trained teachers and age-appropriate curriculum to lead the way.  Your child will benefit from the exceptional staff of teachers at Small World School.  They are caring, intentional, artful and highly experienced. They are gifted at identifying and nurturing your child's gifts, abilities, and unique personality.

Children learn differently than adults.  They need hands-on experiences and teachers that are actively engaged and participate with them. Children need warmth and attention. They need enthusiasm and encouragement. Most of all, they need the joy and challenge of doing activities themselves, because that’s what helps children learn and grow, and that’s our mission at Small World School.

Small World School Is An Environment Where:

•  Your child’s self esteem will be purposefully nurtured.

•  A variety of stimulating learning centers are available throughout class time.

•  Your child will benefit from skilled interaction with a team of two certified teachers.

•  Parents are always welcome.

•  Your child will learn to play cooperatively, listening to the “good ideas” of other children.

•  Physical challenges are offered and young children gain competence in the use of their bodies.

•  Your child’s spiritual/ moral development is nourished in a Christian atmosphere.

•  “Art” means experimenting, exploring, expressing and experiencing.

•  Your child’s cognitive skills can develop through participation in the various learning centers.  (Dramatic play, block building, cooking, table toys, etc. are the vehicles for learning, problem solving, planning, seriation, numbers, language, spatial relations and classification).

•  Children ages 3 - 5 are welcomed without regard to race, color, or national and ethnic origin.
